Judy Hegarty Lovett directs Conor Lovett in this 3-hour tour de force performance of their adaptation of the towering novels that Beckett deemed his ‘important work’. The three novels Molloy, Malone Dies and The Unnamable were written shortly after the war in the same period that produced Waiting For Godot and the short stories First Love, The End and The Calmative.

The Beckett Trilogy confirmed Gare St Lazare Ireland as major Beckett interpreters and theatrical innovators when it premiered at Kilkenny Arts Festival in 2000. Writing in The Irish Times, the late Eileen Battersby noted ‘the theatre programme was dominated, indeed obliterated by Lovett’s astonishing performance.’

The production has toured around the world and recently performed at Lincoln Center’s White Light Festival in New York.

‘There’s nothing flashy here. No giant sets. No fancy lighting. Just a man with a story to share.  A man with passion and love. Once you have seen this you will never go back. You will not want anyone but Gare St Lazare to do Beckett again.’
